People will take on 18 holes of golf to raise money for Weston Hospicecare tomorrow (Friday).

A charity golf day will take place at Congresbury’s Mendip Spring Golf and Country Club, in Honeyhall Lane, and has been organised by recruitment company Abatec, based on the Oldmixon Crescent.

MORE: Worle man cycles 100 miles for Weston Hospicecare.

Abatec is celebrating 30 years of operations and its managing director, Phil Davies, says the company has decided to support the hospice for a personal reason.

Phil said: “Unfortunately, an ex-member of Mendip Spring golf club and a very close friend of mine, Graham Grey, sadly died while under the care of this wonderful charity.

“To raise awareness and money, all proceeds on the day will go to Weston Hospicecare.”

MORE: It’s a Knockout fundraiser launched by hospice.

Fourball teams will tee off at 11am, with bacon rolls and coffee served from 10am.

To book a tee time for a team of four people, call 01934 635025.
