Archant

Weston’s green-fingered volunteers were once again celebrating this week, after securing a gold award from South West In Bloom.

It is the fifth year in a row the members of Weston In Bloom have been recognised with the top prize.

Judge John Wheatley told the team: “Weston can be proud of its entry.

“The whole team approach has resulted in major improvements, often over and above what could be expected within the timescale you have set yourselves.”

Weston also entered 15 community groups and schools into the It’s Your Neighbourhood section of the awards.

The town won nine ‘outstanding’ prizes, and six ‘thriving’.

Weston In Bloom is in need of volunteers.
