WESTON College has been given a glowing report by Ofsted inspectors.

The college, which has a site in Knightstone Road and its new campus in Loxton Road, was looked over in January and the results have been revealed.

The college is praised for providing outstanding guidance and support, a rich and varied curriculum and a safe and welcoming environment.

The college's work with underachieving and hard to reach groups who are under-represented in further education was also recognised.

Teachers were commended for using a range of motivating activities and for their good working relationships with students.

Principle Dr Paul Phillips is described as being a good leader and is praised for setting an ambitious and dynamic vision for the future development of the college.

Dr Phillips said: "We have successfully addressed areas for development since our last inspection and our success rates are above the national average.

"This is a superb result for us but we are not going to be complacent.

"We are now going to raise the bar even higher and will be focusing upon achieving even more and providing more diversity of learning within lectures.
