A Weston couple have received their second letter from the Queen after having been married for 65 years.

Eric and Sheila Fisher of Locking Road first received a letter from the monarch on their diamond anniversary five years ago.

Eric, aged 86, and Sheila, aged 84, met at their home town in Birmingham when Sheila worked as a wig-maker and Eric was a hairdresser in the shop next door after leaving the Armed Forces.

They moved from Birmingham to Weston in 1950 after Eric’s father opened up Somerset Wig Makers in Alexandra Parade, so Sheila could work there.

They have a son and two granddaughters.
