AN EVENING of entertainment will be held on Weston's Grand Pier this month to help a terminally-ill mum.

The Mercury reported earlier this year how Mandy Jones’ friends were fund-raising for medication she is unlikely to get on the NHS.

Mandy, of West Wick, has incurable cancer, which has spread to her spine, lungs and brain and she does not know which day could be her last with her young sons.

The chemotherapy she is having is stopping the cancer from spreading further for the moment, but her friends are fund-raising in case doctors can find some medication in the meantime to help her extend her life, even by a few weeks.

They will hold an evening of entertainment on the Grand Pier on November 12, from 7.30pm to raise awareness of their campaign.

There will be live music from Adam Lipinski, a fish and chip supper and casino at the seafront atttraction.

Mandy’s friend Sheryl Selway said: “Mandy is a fighter with true spirit and strength of character and many of us wanted to do more to help, which is why we came up with the idea of this event.”

Tickets, priced £25, are available from Sheryl on 07828 669152 or Kim Evans on 07786 360155.
