WESTON General Hospital has been named among the top 40 hospitals in the country in a national poll.
For the seventh year running, the managing trust has been recognised in the Top Hospitals awards by the CHKS, an independent provider of healthcare intelligence.
The company works out the list by rating each 135 hospital trusts on a series of factors, including safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience and quality of care.
It then names the top 40 at a ceremony held in London.
Bosses from Weston General Hospital attended the awards event and were again among the winners.
Medical director Nick Gallegos said: “To achieve a 40 Top ranking out of 135 Trusts for the seventh year running is an excellent result, of which we are very proud.
“It signifies that we continue to perform extremely well on key NHS acute trust issues, such as low infection rates, low complication rates, low mortality rates and having an excellent record on day surgery.
CHKS managing director Jason Harries said: “These awards recognise outstanding performance in 21 areas, which we believe are critical to delivering good patient care.”
