People will be able to enjoy beautiful photos of Weston-super-Mare and its surrounding area while supporting one of the town's best-loved charities, after Weston Hospicecare announced its 2017 charity calendar will soon go on sale.

The charity invited Midweek and Weston Mercury readers to submit their best photos of the area for possible inclusion in the calendar earlier this year.

Some of the popular town landmarks which make an appearance in the calendar include Marine Lake, Birnbeck Pier, Worlebury Woods and the boat yard at Uphill.

The calendar will now be sold at the hospice in Thornbury Road, Uphill, and in its network of shops across the area.

It will cost £3.50 and all proceeds will go straight to funding patient care at the hospice.

Community fundraiser Sue Harding thanked everyone who sent in photos for consideration.

She said: “They were all so lovely and we were spoiled for choice.

“We tried to make sure we had a variety of photos that represent the communities we serve, and we hope everyone enjoys the calendar.”
