A Weston charity is looking for more volunteers to help run its network of shops.

Weston Hospicecare, which provides support for people with life-limiting conditions, is inviting people into its stores to meet the teams and find out more about the voluntary roles.

The charity operates 16 shops across North Somerset and they are staffed almost entirely by volunteers.

Recruitment weeks will run at Weston’s High Street shop this week, at Burnham’s High Street shop from Monday, in Weston’s Milton Road store from May 7, in the Aller Parade Shop from May 21 and in Clevedon’s Hill Road store from June 4.

Weston Hospicecare’s volunteer manager Maria Beaton said: “Our volunteers are extremely dedicated and passionate.

“Many volunteers tell us how much they get from volunteering such as the rewarding feeling of helping others, supporting a worthy cause, being part of a team, work experience, meeting new friends – this list is not exhaustive.

“We are extremely lucky to have such brilliant volunteers and look forward to welcoming many more into the Weston Hospicecare family.”

The charity’s shops have different specialities including an outdoors shop in Cheddar, furniture outlets and pound stores.

Shop volunteers can contribute just a few hours a week, if that’s all they can spare, and roles are avialable on the shop floor and sorting stock behind the scenes.

Anyone interested in helping out, who cannot make the recruitment days, can find out more at www.westonhospicecare.org.uk
