THE centre of Weston will be illuminated with a dazzling display this weekend.
The town's Christmas lights will be turned on during a glittering ceremony on Saturday.
The event will take place from 5pm and Weston Brass and the Wayfarers Drama Group will be performing Christmas carols. Father Christmas and his elves will be making an appearance and there will even be some snow.
On the night, there will also be a chance to support Weston Hospicecare's Tree of Light Appeal, which is backed by the Weston & Somerset Mercury, by dedicating a light to a missed loved one.
The town's mayor, Councillor John Ley Morgan, will also be presenting the winners of the town council's design a light competition with their own framed designs in the Italian Gardens.
