A club which raises thousands of pounds for charity each year is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Weston Lions Club marked its landmark birthday with a dinner at Batch Country House in Lympsham.
Weston mayor Jos Holder, Lions Club International district governor Ian Snell and members of Yeo Valley, Portishead and Clevedon Lions clubs were invited to the celebrations.
Cllr Jos Holder said: “I’m very impressed with how much work the Lions do because it’s all voluntary and they help so many charities.”
Members have raised around £2.5million for charities since the club began.
Weston Lions holds numerous fundraisers throughout the year including the real ale and cider festival in July.
The club has also partnered with the Mercury to run Go Kids Go! which has given out thousands of pounds worth of grants to youth projects in recent years.
