AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis plants.

Police officers raided a house in Camden Terrace, Weston, yesterday (Wed) after finding 20 plants of varying ages in one of the bedrooms along with lighting equipment and chemicals used to produce the class B drug.

PC Amanda Butson, who led the raid, said: “We are very grateful for the assistance afforded to us by the local community in coming forward and identifying this address.

“It is important that local people act as our eyes and ears within the community and should they have any concerns or suspicions to inform the police immediately”.

The tip off for officers came from the local community who had reported an unusual amount of people going to and from the property recently.
