John Gibbs was due to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court today (Weds) along with five other men.
John Hall, aged 40, was attacked in September in Catherine Street, Avonmouth. He was initially taken to Frenchay Hospital and has now been transferred to a hospital in Newcastle where he is still being treated for a significant brain injury.
