The sixth member of a Weston-super-Mare drugs gang was sentenced last month.

Dominic Palmer, of Dunster Crescent, was sentenced to two years imprisonment suspended for two years at Bristol Crown Court on September 12.

Palmer, age 30, was part of a group which attempted to flood the town with thousands of pounds worth of cocaine.

The Mercury reported in March that Lee Loveridge, Shane Mulgrue, Jason Sheppard, Collette Lucas and Grant McKechnie all received custodial sentences, three of which were suspended, for conspiring to supply class A drugs.

It was part of a two-year operation by neighbourhood police who uncovered the ‘ambitious plan’.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary’s Inspector Dave Deakin said at the time: “This was a complex investigation which resulted in a group of drug producers and suppliers being taken off the streets.

“Their operation was well-organised.”
