A Weston-super-Mare man will run the Great Bristol Half Marathon this weekend as part of his efforts to increase support available to his family members who have Huntington’s disease.

Tim Davidson will take on the 21km course in aid of the Huntington Disease Association (HDA) on Sunday.

Tim set up the Weston and Somerset Huntington’s Disease Support group in March as he felt there was a lack of support services available to him and his family.

He said: “My cousins are in various stages of the disease and their father died from Huntington’s in the early 1980s.

“Our group was set up because there is no support within Somerset for fellow sufferers and their families, I met many people who had similar issues with no-one to talk to.”

The support group meets at Weston Cricket Club, in Devonshire Road, every last Thursday of the month at 7.15pm.
