Weston-super-Mare's new-look museum will take people back in time this festive season with a Victorian Christmas.

The museum, in Burlington Street, re-opened in August following a £1.6million refurbishment.

To mark its first Christmas, there will be a Victorian-themed celebration which will celebrate the town’s strong heritage on Saturday and Sunday.

A big tree and traditional decorations will take over the space and there will be the sounds of carols and scent of mulled wine in the air.

The museum will be open from 10am each day and there will be something for all age groups to get involved with, including craft sessions for children.

Father Christmas will also take a break from his busy schedule to reward the town’s youngsters who take part in the museum’s Christmas trail.

There will also be some festive treats being served up in the museum’s café, made from local produce.
