Plans to create community hub in Weston which would be home to services like a GP surgery and a children's centre have gained 'a lot of support', but 'there is still a long way to go'.
In May, North Somerset Council unveiled its One Public Estate project, which is hoping to tackle ‘long-standing concerns’ over health in the town centre.
The council has been canvassing opinion on how the hub could take shape, but it could be some time before plans are materialised.
A spokesman said: “The initial engagement has been completed and showed a lot of support, both from the community and organisations.
“The next step is more detailed work on requirements and potential sites. This must be aligned with what health partners are doing on the future of services in Weston.
“Once we have developed a shared vision we will be in position to bid for funding, but there is still a long way to go before anything can be delivered.”
