THE Princess Royal's schedule for when she visits Weston this month has been revealed.
Princess Anne will arrive in the resort on the morning of July 25 and will begin her seafront tour at the Winter Gardens.
She will view the new tourist information centre before perusing an exhibition of the seafront enhancements programme in the ballroom.
The royal party will then walk south along the seafront as far as the Grand Pier, where the attraction’s owners will invite the princess to unveil a plaque to commemorate the reopening of the pier.
She last came to the town in 2008, just months after the tourist hotspot was destroyed by a devastating fire.
Chairman of North Somerset Council, Councillor Colin Hall, who is hosting the visit, said: “I am delighted that Her Royal Highness is coming to North Somerset again.
“It is very kind of her to come back and see how much has changed since her last visit.
“This will also be a wonderful way to start the school summer holidays and I am hoping that lots of local people and visitors will be on the seafront on the day to welcome our very special visitor.”
Finally, Princess Anne will visit the recently completed public open space opposite the pier, known as Pier Square, and will unveil a plaque to mark its official opening.
