A seafront nightspot which is set to change hands will be redeveloped once the deal is done.

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon has
exchanged contracts to purchase the Cabot 5 Bars in Knightstone Road, Weston, but is still waiting for completion to take place.

A spokesman said that, as it already owns another site in the town, The Dragon Inn in Meadow Street, the Cabot may be renamed as a Lloyds bar.

On average Wetherspoon spends about £800,000 redeveloping sites during a
10-week building project, although no set costs or times have been revealed for the Cabot.
