Police working on Weston’s Bournville and Oldmixon estates have seen their efforts rewarded.

The One Team were presented with a high sheriff’s award, recognising their ‘great and valuable services to the community’.

The group is made up of professionals who work closely to safeguard vulnerable individuals and improve the community for those who live and work on the estates.

Receiving the award, PC Nick Falconer said: “It’s great our work has been recognised by the high sheriff, and this is testament to the commitment and professionalism of partner agencies who are determined to go the extra mile to help people locally.

Denis Burn, Somerset’s high sheriff, praised the group.

He added: “The One Team is a great example of how people from different agencies, working together, can cut through bureaucratic delays and help to bring quick solutions to the issues affecting their communities.”
