A sponsored walk will take place this weekend in aid of the Catch The Light community lantern parade.

The group stroll has been organised by Mike Jones and will take place on Saturday.

They will set off at noon to walk the length of Weston promenade to Marine Lake and back.

It will raise money for the parade which takes place on Weston’s Bournville estate in October.

Organiser Mike has overcome personal obstacles in the past two years and taken on the role of health walk leader at the For All Healthy Living Centre, in Lonsdale Avenue.

The fundraising team has held other activities in recent weeks, including a cake sale and volunteering at the Lions’ real ale Festival on Saturday which raised more than £500 for the lantern parade.
