Weston set for carnival

THOUSANDS of visitors are expected in Weston tonight as the town welcomes its 35th carnival.
As it is the last of the ‘magnificent seven’ Somerset carnivals, it is likely to attract many thousands of visitors from outside of North Somerset.
The carnival will take the same route as last year, starting at Locking Road car park at 7.15pm, and then heading down Regent Street towards the seafront.
They will turn left towards the Tropicana, before turning left onto Clarence Road North, left again onto Walliscote Road and then heading back to Station Road.
All the roads used in the carnival will be shut at 6pm, with the exception of Beach Road, which will be shut from 4pm.
Additional car parking will be available at Beach Lawn, at the cost of £5 per car.
It is forecast to be a clear but chilly night, with temperatures possibly dropping to as low as 3 degrees centigrade, so be sure to wrap up warm and bring your gloves, hats and scarves.
