Power cuts affect more than 1,300 homes in Weston

More than 1,300 homes in central Weston-super-Mare and Worle are without power this afternoon (Friday).
A total of 1,319 homes in the BS22 and BS23 postcodes have had their power cut off.
An underground cable fault has caused the incident and engineers are working to have all properties back on by 3.30pm.
A Western Power Distribution spokesman told the Mercury: “We have an underground cable fault which occured at 1.55pm.
“We hope to have all customers back online by 3.30pm.
“We will be making investigations at a later stage.”
