Hundreds of runners will brave the freezing cold weather to raise money for Weston Hospicecare this weekend.

Weston-super-Mare Athletics Club will once again host its annual 10k Christmas Cracker and Mini-Cracker race on Sunday along Weston seafront.

Santas, presents, elves and Christmas trees will be running the length of the beach to raise money for local charity.

This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the event and it is set to be the biggest to date, with the race oversubscribed by 20 per cent.

The Mini-Cracker race for children aged seven to 15 will start the festivities at 10am from the Grand Pier.

Then the main event, the 10k, will start at 11am from the pier and will see runners tackle tarmac and sandy terrains as they venture down the seafront to Uphill and back along the Promenade.
