A Weston-super-Mare care home 'requires improvement' according to a health watchdog's latest inspection.

Abbey Grange Nursing and Residential Home, in South Road, was visited by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which examines and regulates care services.

The inspection was unannounced and the report read: “Some aspects of the service were not always safe. People did not always receive medicines at the correct time, as prescribed or that had been stored safely within the required temperature.”

However, the home was found to be caring.

The report added: “People told us they were happy with the care and support they received. Throughout our inspection staff interacted with people in a caring way.”

The manager of Abbey Grange was unavailable for comment.
