This Sunday is all about celebrating dads, as Father’s Day is taking place this weekend. Here are some ways you could spend it time together in Weston-super-Mare this weekend.
Weston Air Festival and Armed Forces Weekend
With the Red Arrows taking to the skies alongside more of Britain’s favourite aeroplanes, Weston’s beach is the place to go this weekend. Take a stroll along the seafront, watch the planes go by overhead, and admire some amazing armed forces displays on the Beach Lawns.
Puxton Park in Hewish
Dads and kids can take part in a football skills school, hosted by Rob Salmon. Sessions include agility, dribbling, shooting and technique. There will even be a dads versus kids shoot-out competition – and dads get in free all weekend. It will be held on June 17 and 18, from 9am-5pm.
There’s nothing like a trek through the woods to bring out the adventurer in you. Worlebury Woods offers a play area for the youngsters, and Tower House Woods in Wraxall has a sculpture trail to enjoy if you want to go further afield.
With the weather looking good, take a trip to Jacklands Fishing Lakes in Tickenham. There are rainbow trout and coarse fish in the lakes there, and a day permit costs £6, plus £6 per kilo of fish.
Go out for dinner in one of Weston’s many popular restaurants. Whatever your favourite cuisine, you will surely enjoy an amazing meal with your family. Favourites in the town include Greek food at Demetris Taverna and burgers at Bare Grills.
