Pupils from a former Weston-super-Mare school came together after 50 years for a school reunion.

Pupils from Weston Grammar School, which closed in 1971, travelled from as far as Australia to meet their classmates at Weston Golf Club last week.

Graham Morgan found his old friend Crispin Edmonds, who went by Eddy at school, on Facebook and suggested the pair try to find their former classmates for a get-together.

Though social media and Google, the pair were able to reach out to 30 of the 36 pupils in their class and 26 attended the reunion.

Crispin said it was ‘brilliant’ to see his old friends and celebrate their school years together

He said: “This may be the last time we will be able to get together like this, we are all 69, about to be 70, and it took half a year of planning to get together.

“Sadly our numbers will only deplete but it was great having this time.”
