Opening hours at Weston’s Town Hall will be reduced again – decreasing the amount of time the police desk is available to people to report crimes in person.
North Somerset Council changed the Town Hall’s opening hours in July last year, including closing it on Sundays.
The council has announced further to changes to when the Town Hall reception and library will be open.
A spokesman said: “A review of visitor numbers has shown, on average, only one or two enquiries are made at the Town Hall reception between 5-8pm Monday to Friday and between 2.30-7pm on Saturdays.
“Use of the library is also low at these times so, in order to make best use of resources, North Somerset Council is reducing the opening hours.”
The Town Hall reception will be available from 8.30am-5pm Mondays to Fridays, and from 9am-2.30pm on Saturdays.

People can use the library from 8.30am-6pm Mondays to Fridays, and 9am-4pm on Saturdays.
When the Town Hall opened in 2012, it consolidated a number of its activities under one roof, including the library and council services.
When the former police station, in Walliscote Grove Road, closed in January 2013, a police desk was moved to the Town Hall.
When the police desk moved to the Town Hall, Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said it ensured a police presence would ‘remain in the heart of the community’.
Inspector David Deakin from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “We are committed to having a police enquiry office service in Weston and will be changing our opening hours to reflect the new hours provided at the Town Hall.
“This will not affect the numbers of police officers and PCSOs who work from the Town Hall and our police centre on the outskirts of Weston.”
The changes also mean Weston’s main library is available for fewer hours than ones in Worle, Locking Castle, Winscombe and Portishead where people can sign up to visit during extended opening hours.
Although staff are not available early in the mornings or in the evenings, people can still use those libraries until 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 10am-4pm on Sundays.
The library at the For All Healthy Living Centre, in Lonsdale Avenue on the Bournville estate, will no longer open on Saturday mornings.
