A Weston man has exhibited some of his original artwork at a popular town café, in a bid to showcase his talent.

Talented artist Joe Bougourd, aged 30, has secured his own exhibition at Loves Café in West Street, and wants to show some of his pieces to the public.

He has themed the exhibition on Weston’s town with some of the pictures showing some of its most iconic feature, including the beach and Birnbeck Pier.

Joe told the Mercury he felt he needed to follow his dream before it was too late.

He said: “I have always been into my art and thought I better do it now as around a year ago I was not getting anywhere.

“This is my first solo exhibition and I am hoping to show more of my work in the future at other ones.

“With art, you have to start somewhere and this is just that for me.”

Wendy Garland, from Team North Somerset, has been helping Joe take this next step with his art and says she is ‘very proud’ of him.
