Weston-super-Mare’s MP has joined an initiative to find the next generation of political leaders.

John Penrose has been asked to join the British Council’s Future Leaders Connect programme which aims to find young people from across the world who have the potential to become a leader or policy maker and will provide them with a policy and leadership development programme.

Successful applicants, who must be aged 18-30, will have the opportunity to meet peers from across the world and gain skills to turn innovative ideas into solid policy recommendations.

Mr Penrose would like to start his search at home in Weston.

He said: “This initiative equips people with the connections and skills to transform their ideas into reality.

“I bet there are people in Weston, Worle or the village who would benefit from taking part. Let’s find Weston’s next generation of leaders.”

Enter online at www. britishcouncil.org/future-leaders-connect by 23.59pm tomorrow (Thursday).
