A team of Weston-super-Mare drivers will clock up more than 2,000 miles while raising money for two charities.

The four-man MonkeyBall rally team is raising money for the RNLI and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

They will drive from Coalville, in Leicestershire, to Skegness, then along the coast around East Anglia, down to Land’s End before finishing in Aberystwyth, in West Wales.

They have a budget of £500 to spend on each car, which includes its purchase, modifications and any repair works needed.

The cars will also be used as makeshift beds during the six-day rally.

Organiser Gavin Wood said: “We are just a group of car enthusiasts who want to use our shared interest by helping out important organisations.

“We are hoping to raise as much money as possible.”
