The architect behind a Weston hotel’s expansion has released more images.

The Royal Hotel, on the seafront, has been given permission to build an underground car park and extension.

View Architects, which has designed the project, has released more images of its proposed design.

A View Architects spokesman said: “The new lawn covering the underground car park is lower to maintain views of the adjacent buildings and to improve their setting and outlook.

“The proposals include the widening and repaving of Spider Lane with enlarged landscaped spaces at either end, delivering a much improved pedestrian route from the recently upgraded Italian Gardens to the seafront.

“The revised proposals meet the ambitions of the hotel to offer high quality accommodation to their guests whilst improving the setting of the existing listed building and upgrading the streetscape to be enjoyed by the local community.”
