Weston will host a brand new food festival next weekend – but the party will not stop after the last dish is served, with its organisers hoping to keep the celebration going.

The Imperial, in South Parade, will host Eat: Weston’s after party, following a day of trading in Weston’s High Street.

Organisers Beverley and Sarah Milner Simonds are no strangers to organising food festivals, having hosted nine such events in Burnham and others in Wellington and Taunton.

However, this is their debut in Weston and so a free festival act will help extend the fun into the night from 9pm.

The aptly-named The Fabulous Dough Boys will perform and Beverley told the Mercury she has been thrilled by the response which the festival has enjoyed so far.

She said: “We are thrilled that The Imperial got on board so quickly to book an act for the festival after party.

“The feedback from local businesses has been really positive and we are promoting five of them in the festival directory.

“You will need to present your free copy of the directory from the festival on the night.”

Eat: Weston will take place from 9am-4pm on April 8.
