A nine-man Weston-super-Mare rally team with six cars have completed a 2,000-mile journey for charity.

The MonkeyBall rally team drove from Coalville, in Leicestershire, to Skegness, then along the coast around East Anglia, down to Land’s End and Aberystwyth, in West Wales, before finishing in Weston.

The team has raised more than £1,500 for two charities, the RNLI and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

It had a budget of £500 to spend on each car, which was also used as makeshift beds during the six-day rally.

Group member Gavin Wood said: “It was a fantastic feeling to get to Weston beach as a team.

“We only had a couple of minor issues which we managed to sort out between ourselves as most of us are in the mechanic industry.

“We are delighted to have raised so much money.”
