Young people from Weston-super-Mare are being offered the chance to visit Germany as part of an exchange programme.

Teenagers have been taking part in exchanges between Weston and its twin town Hildesheim for more than 30 years. The next trip will be during half-term in October.

Organisers are working with the YMCA and Weston Town Council, and the trip will involve days out to some of Germany’s most famous cities.

Town council clerk Malcolm Nicholson said: “The exchange is not just for language students.

“It is a great opportunity for a young person to live with a German family, learn about their culture, broaden their horizons and at the same time have a lot of fun.”

Parents of children aged 12-17 should call Debbie on 01934 429035 or email debbiestone67@btinternet.com to learn more. An information event will be held at the YMCA, in Bristol Road Lower, on June 30 from 1-3pm.
