TWO annual assemblies will be held next month to let residents know what has been going on in their communities over the last year.

The Axbridge meeting will be held on Monday while Wedmore Parish Council will hold it's annual meeting on March 26.

At Axbridge, presentations will be given from town, district and county councillors as well as reports from police and school governor representatives. There will also be annual reviews given from Axbridge Action Group, the Chamber of Commerce, the Town Trust and updates about the Blackberry Carnival.

Axbridge Annual Assembly will be held in the town hall in The Square at 7.30pm.

The Wedmore meeting will include a presentation from a guest speaker from Somerset County Council who will discuss heavy goods vehicles travelling through the village.

Wedmore hit international headlines last year when the Somerset Mercury exclusively revealed plans to remove the village from lorry satellite navigation systems.

Parish council chairman John Sanderson will also give a report and anyone who would like anything in particular to be discussed can contact the parish clerk by March 11.

Wedmore Annual Assembly will be held in the Masonic Hall in Church Street.
