Free health programme extended across Weston and Worle

Adults living in and around Weston are again being encouraged to access up to 12 free health support services from North Somerset Council.
Over the years it has helped hundreds of people eat better, drink less alcohol, lose weight, exercise more and quit smoking.
Weston Town Hall offers appointments from 10am to noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and the For All Healthy Living Centre still takes people from 1.30-2.30pm on Wednesdays on the Bournville.
Stop smoking support is now on offer at Oldmixon Family Centre from 9-11am on Tuesdays, and Big Worle is running a general healthy living session on a Wednesday morning.
Jill Iles, the council’s assistant executive member for public health, said: “Stopping smoking is the single most important thing a smoker can do for their health. Smoking still kills 300 people every day in the UK and half of smokers will die from a smoking-related illness.”
