A CONSERVATION charity which maintains and protects nature reserves across North Somerset has launched a new fundraising campaign.
Avon Wildlife Trust receives no Government funding for its conservation work and relies solely on its members for its income.
Now, at a time when many charity funding sources have been withdrawn due to the economic downturn, volunteers are hoping more people will be willing to support the trust’s work.
Among the nature reserves it cares for across the former Avon area are Puxton Moor, Goblin Coombe in Cleeve, Walborough near Uphill and Purn Hill and Hellenge Hill near Bleadon.
The new fundraising campaign will see volunteers calling house-to-house and also raising awareness at venues including shops, events and exhibitions in the hope of recruiting new members.
