A MUSIC concert could still return to Weston-super-Mare’s beach this summer, although no firm plans have been agreed yet, according to North Somerset Council.

Last year Weston hosted two major music events.

McBusted headlined the AEG Live festival in late-June, although Backstreet Boys pulled out at the last moment,

Then in July the Corona Sunsets festival was held featuring Disclosure, Annie Mac and Eats Everything.

North Somerset Council is ‘hopeful’ another music event will be arranged for this summer.

It has been trying to attract a regular music operator since T4 On the Beach ended its association with Weston after its 2012 show.
Summer Sets On The Beach was cancelled in 2013 after poor ticket sales but last year’s events were far more successful.

A council spokesman said: “We’re continuing to have discussions with a number of operators and we are hoping to have a music event here this year.”
