Hutton Moor Leisure Centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary and has teamed up with Mercury to offer a prize worth more than £2,000.
A £900 annual family membership – which covers two adults and three children – is up for grabs alongside one adult annual membership for Weston Golf Club, worth £900.
The Helicopter Museum is also offering a family the chance to see the centre – and the rest of Weston-super-Mare – from the skies. Its prize includes a trip for a family of four to the museum where they will be whisked away for a helicopter ride above the coastline at an altitude of 1,000ft.
But that’s not all, the Sand Sculpture Festival is also offering a family ticket to its topsy-turvy event.
Hutton Moor will host an open day on May 7, from 10am-4pm.
Team GB synchronised swimmer Cerys Hughes will be its special guest from 11am to noon and will provide demonstrations and taster sessions for kids in the centre’s main pool, where there will be swimming and inflatable fun during the day.
The event will also offer arts and crafts, a disco, fitness classes, and sessions for over-50s – including walking netball and cricket – and plenty of birthday cake.
Organisations will also be on hand to speak with visitors about what they do in the town, including The Helicopter Museum, Sand Sculpture Festival and Weston Golf Club.
The leisure centre’s general manager Dave Somers said: “We are very excited about Hutton Moor’s 30th anniversary this year and to be able to celebrate this with the community and our local event partners at our open day.
“There is a fantastic range of activities available for all members of the community to get involved with, and the chance to see how our exciting £2.15million development of the centre is coming along.”
