A CHANCE to win a car for £1 has been launched this week in a major new fund-raising drive for a popular appeal.Howards Group in Weston has donated a brand new Peugeot 107 to the Weston Super Kids Appeal. Raffle tickets for the car can be bought for £1 each and the draw will take place at the end of August. The tickets have gone on sale this week from outlets across Weston. All the money raised by selling tickets will go to the kids appeal which, among other things, will mean a children's day ward can be built at Weston General Hospital. Howards managing director Peter Coleman said: "We are happy to support this good cause. We're pleased to be able to put something back into the community."Hospital chief executive, Mark Gritten, said: "On behalf of the Weston Super Kids Appeal I would like to thank Peter Coleman and Howards Peugeot for their magnificent gift of a Peugeot 107 car which is the latest model in the range."I understand from our fund-raiser that this donation is unique in his experience. A car obtained for a lottery is normally purchased at a reduced cost to the charity."Because the car has been given to the appeal, it will start to make a profit as soon as the first raffle ticket is sold." Tickets have gone on sale at Howards Peugeot, Weston General Hospital, the town council offices in Grove Park and The Nightjar pub in Mead Vale, Worle.
