A CONCERT in memory of Buddy Holly is being staged at Weston's Playhouse theatre on Thursday.The exceptionally influential singer and songwriter died aged 22 in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, cutting short what promised to be a hugely successful career. Despite a relatively brief career, with five UK top 40 singles in 14 months, his records and songs are still heard around the globe.Since November 1992, Buddy Holly and the Cricketers have toured Britain regularly playing to sell-out audiences.
