AN AFTERNOON of wartime nostalgia is in store in Weston next month.Forces Sweethearts will be staged at The Playhouse at 4pm on July 2.The show will feature favourite songs from some of the greatest female vocalists of all time, such as Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields and Jessie Matthews.Singers Janice Harper-Roe and Beryl Korman will be accompanied by highly acclaimed singer and pianist Jennifer Partridge.Janice began her career at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera and has since appeared with The Royal Opera and the English Opera Group.Beryl trained at the Royal Academy of Music and was elected as associate of the centre in 1998.
