The Weston & Somerset Mercury has teamed up with The Playhouse, Weston, to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to see the show

AUDIENCES will be singing along for 'more' when Worle Operatic & Dramatic Society perform the hit musical Oliver!The production will be staged at The Playhouse, Weston, from November 22-24.The society has captivated audiences at the High Street venue since 1983 and its show in 2005, Anything Goes, earned it the National Operatic and Dramatic Association regional award for excellence.With words and music by Lionel Bart, the popular musical is based on the Dickens' classic Oliver Twist.Nothing in the young Oliver's life is ever straightforward and there are plenty of twists along the way.Two youngsters will share the role of Oliver, Julian Bailey-Jones and Adam Barker, while the role of The Artful Dodger is undertaken by Jason Pallari. They were chosen following open auditions earlier this year.Other leading members include current Rose Bowl Award nominees Bob Gibbon as Fagin and Emma Wright as Nancy.The company features more than 40 performers including members of operatic youth section, Spectrum, who play members of Fagin's Gang and workhouse children.Performances will take place at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
