THE thundering rhythms of the Mugenkyo Taiko drummers will be shaking the foundations of The Playhouse in Weston next month.Steeped in the ancient traditions of Japanese drumming, the Taiko ensemble takes to the stage on November 13.Delicate flute, gentle bells and percussion interweave with the huge Taiko drums in a visually spellbinding display of choreography and athleticism.Mugenkyo was established in 1994 following two years of intensive training on the West coast of Japan.The musicians perform over 100 concerts a year at theatres, art centres and festivals throughout Britain, Europe and Japan.They have made numerous TV appearances including an appearance at the Last Night of the Proms in 2005, opening the Brit Awards with Queen and Five in 2000, The Generation Game and UK Today.The performance starts at 7.30pm.
