UNRULY schoolgirls will be taking over the silver screen at the Curzon Community Cinema in Clevedon this month.St Trinian's (12A) will be showing at the Old Church Road venue until January 17, providing audiences with plenty of laughs.St Trinian's is a school for 'young ladies' with its anarchic doctrine of free expression.But when it is threatened with closure, a motley crew of ungovernable girls use their wit and ingenuity to try to save their beloved school.The band of feisty females hatches a daring plot to steal a priceless painting to try to save St Trinian's.The long-awaited movie boasts a host of big names including Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Mischa Barton, Stephen Fry as well as TV comedian Russell Brand.Members of girl band Girls Aloud also add some colour to the lively cast.* If you favour drama over comedy, The Kite Runner (15) could be more up your street.The film focuses on novelist Amir (Khalid Abdalla) as he reflects back on his horrific childhood in Kabul, Afghanistan, and the terrible events that befell him and his servant and best friend Hassan (Ahmad Khan Mahmidzada) before the Soviet invasion in 1979.Amir is still haunted by the guilt of betraying his friend Hassan, son of a family servant.Having lived in California for a number of years, Amir returns to Afghanistan to help his beloved friend, when his son gets in trouble.The film is based on Khaled Hosseini's best-selling novel, The Kite Runner, and is an epic tale of redemption, fathers and sons, of friendship and betrayal, that takes viewers from the final days of Afghanistan's monarchy to the atrocities of the Taliban reign.The Kite Runner starts on Friday and is showing until January 24.* The Curzon Community Cinema has teamed up with the Times to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets to a film of their choice, subject to availability.The tickets are valid for three months and can be used for any film shown at the cinema during that time.* To enter please answer the following question: Members of a famous girl band appear in St Trinian's.
