A fantastic new festival will come to Somerset this year – and the Mercury is offering readers a chance to be there for free.

Tickets to the South West Outdoors Festival and a shopping voucher to a clothes retailer are up for grabs – worth £240.

The festival, which launched last year, will take place in the Cheddar Valley and will welcome people from all over the country for a three-day weekend filled with fun and adventure.

People of all ages will be able to take part in rock climbing, hiking, watersports and more.

After a day of activities, festival guests will then be able to enjoy stories and camping under the stars in Britain’s biggest gorge.

The festival – which will take place in September– has been organised by the National Trust, in partnership with clothes retailer Cotswold Outdoor.

The retailers are offering the winners a £50 voucher for the store – which sells a variety of camping and outdoor clothes and equipment.

The event has been supported by the Mendip Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Somerset Wildlife Trust and Longleat – which owns and operate in the Gorge.

The South West Outdoor Festival will be in Cheddar Gorge, in The Cliffs, from September 8-10.

Tickets, priced £3-225, are available from www.nationaltrust.org.uk/southwestoutdoorsfestival

The Mercury has teamed up with the National Trust and Cotswold Outdoors to offer two lucky readers a chance to win a pair of tickets to the festival on September 9 and another two readers a pair of tickets to the festival on September 10.

All winners will also receive £50 worth of vouchers to Cotswold Outdoors.

This competition will close at 10am on June 16.
