FALLEN trees have blocked roads in North Somerset after high winds and heavy rain hit the region.
Adverse weather conditions moved into the district at about 4pm today (Wed) and by about 7pm many roads were covered with surface water and gales were blowing through the area.
In Portishead a tree fell in Church Road South, blocking it in both directions, with the same occurring in Rhodyate Hill in Cleeve.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service has also reported attending a number of flooding-related incidents this evening.
Earlier today, the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for the South West warning of gales of up to 70mph.
A further warning has been issued for heavy rain along the South West coastline for Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
