A WOMAN has been left unable to use her car after vandals threw three full bottles at it while she was driving through the Boulevard in Weston - completely shattering her windscreen.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary is appealing for information surrounding the incident, which left Wendy Maggs, of Winscombe, amazed she didn’t crash into a nearby building.
She says the attack on her car came from an upstairs window and could have led to someone being seriously hurt.
She said: “I was driving by the hardware store in the Boulevard at around 11pm when something hit my windscreen and shattered it.
“Me and my passengers got out and could hear giggles and noises coming from a three-storey building.
“When we looked at the road three large coke bottles were lying by my car, one had broken and the other two were still full.
“These lads had dropped them from their window. I called the police who came quickly and took down all the details.
“I could have very well crashed into a building.”
Wendy was left feeling shaken after the incident, which left her having to drive all the way from Weston to her home in Winscombe with a shattered windscreen.
She said: “I have also had to pay an excess of £75 which I’m not happy about, and I have not been able to use my car since it happened.”
A police spokesman said: “We received a report of a criminal damage to a motor vehicle on Waterloo Street on December 28.
“A car was window broken during the incident. Enquiries are still ongoing.”
Police are now appealing for witnessess.
