A GRANDMOTHER celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family.
Winifred Burnham received a telegram from the Queen as part of the celebrations.
The party, held at Weston’s Highcroft Nursing Home in Eastfield Park, was organised by Winifred’s children Brad Burnham and Kate George.
Winifred moved to Weston with her husband George, whom she met during World War Two, in the 1950s.
George, who was an accountant, helped to set up youth football in the town.
As well as bringing up her children, Winifred worked in an office owned by the Brenner family.
About 30 people visited her on her birthday, including family and friends she had not seen for many years.
Her son, Brad, said: “The celebrations went very well and we all had a good time.”
Winifred has two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
