NORTH Somerset Council has been nominated for two special awards.Along with Bath and North East Somerset and Bristol City Council, the authority could win two TravelWise awards for its Jam Busting June commuter challenge.The awards are for Best Travel Awareness Event and Most Innovative TravelWise Project. Jam Busting June aimed to encourage commuters to swap driving to work alone to more environmentally friendly methods such as car sharing and cycling.More than 3,000 competitors took part saving around 70,000 car miles. The award winners will be announced at the annual TravelWise conference gala dinner on November 8.
